How it works

This is the digital version of classic scratch art: color a sheet with bright crayons, cover it all in black, then scratch a drawing with a toothpick so the lines shine in rainbow colors. Here the colorful base is generated randomly for every card — draw with your finger, stylus or mouse, and adjust the pen tip for fine or bold lines. "Cover again" repaints the black over the same colors so you can start your drawing over; "New colors" deals a whole new hidden pattern. Use "Save image" to keep your artwork — on phones and tablets the share sheet saves it straight to your photos.

Frequently asked questions

Are the hidden colors the same every time?
No — every card hides a brand-new random pattern: rainbow stripes at random angles, rings, dots, waves, mosaics and bursts, always in many bright colors. Your lines pick up different colors depending on where you draw.
I messed up my drawing — can I start over?
Yes — "Cover again" repaints the black coating over the same hidden colors, so you can redraw on the exact same card. "New colors" deals a completely new pattern instead.
How do I save my drawing on a phone?
Tap "Save image" — on phones and tablets the share sheet opens so you can save the PNG straight to your photo library or send it to a friend. On a computer the image downloads.
